February 12, 2015 •The Anti-Hero's Journey for Storytellers
7:00 - 8:30 pm at the King County Library Service Center (960 Newport Way NW, Issaquah, WA 98027)
Many writing teachers tell new writers not to attempt to write stories about anti-heroes or tragic heroes as it’s just too difficult to achieve reader sympathy. But Joseph Campbell’s The Hero’s Journey is for all types of characters, not just the squeaky clean ones who save the day. Anti-heroes and tragic heroes also have journeys and stories that need to be told. In this workshop, Gloria will guide attendees through crafting the twelve stages of The Hero’s Journey, including those “heroes” who refuse to follow the "rules.”
