Whether entering a contest, sending out a proposal to an agent or editor, or publishing your book, as authors we sometimes don’t put our best foot forward. Attendees will learn how to choose their words carefully, the critical first pages, the common mistakes made in query letters and synopses, and how to effectively communicate once you have an agent or editor’s attention.

Kate Collins is the Editor in Chief for Solstice Publishing and its imprint Solstice Shadows. Kate is also the Executive Assistant to the CEO of Solstice Publishing, Melissa Miller. Kate communicates with authors on a daily basis on topics ranging from where their manuscript is in the process, from editing, cover art, and proofreading. She is also an international best-selling fantasy author, writing under the name, Kate Marie Collins.
