November 6, 2014 • A PNWA Literary Contest Primer
7:00 - 8:30 pm at the King County Library Service Center (960 Newport Way NW, Issaquah, WA 98027)
A PNWA Literary Contest Primer: Literary contests have become another way for authors to gain recognition, sharpen their craft, and obtain publishing contracts or representation from agents. But to be noticed, your submission must reach the coveted finalist status. This workshop from PNWA contest insiders will help ensure your entry gets a fighting chance.
Darcy Carson is published in romantic comedy. She has been active in Romance Writers of America as a Tacoma chapter president, founding president of Eastside Romance Writers and served as RWA’s national conference agent/editor liaison. She launched an Internet radio show called Romance Review where she interviewed romance authors. Currently, she is working on a contemporary paranormal romance. Darcy is a PNWA board member and literary contest chair.
Steve Jaquith is a writer, actor, and oxygen enthusiast. (Seriously—he’s addicted. He huffs the stuff 24/7.) He has written for HGTV and the Portland Journal, and spent over a decade touring the country with an improvisational comedy group. Now he lives in Seattle with his wife, two dogs and a near endless supply of oxygen. He has served as a judge and category chair for the PNWA Literary Contest, and had been a finalist for five years in a row until last year when evil gremlins jinxed his entries.
