Pam Binder is an award-winning and New York Times best-selling author. Pam found her agent at the 1999 PNWA Summer Conference and in January 2000, The Inscription was published by Pocket Books, a division of Simon & Schuster. Pocket Books has published five of Pam’s fantasy romance novels, including the New York Times best-selling anthology, A Season in the Highlands. Pam is also an advisory board member for the Creative Writer’s Program at the University of Washington, and an instructor in the University of Washington’s Popular Fiction extension program.


SANDY McCORMACK
Vice President

Sandy McCormack holds a master’s degree in education and "finally” retired in 2012. After having "quit her day job,” she looks forward to devoting herself fully to writing! Sandy has developed and taught courses through Central Washington University specifically designed to meet the needs of substitute teachers. Additionally,she published a monthly newsletter and wrote a handbook for them. Sandy has also written articles for writers’ publications. Forever passionate about flying, Sandy is a flight instructor. Her current project is an historical fiction novel about women pilots during WWII.

A member of PNWA since 1998, she has served as volunteer chair, literary contest chair, and currently works atthe Writers’ Cottage whenever possible.

BRIAN MERCER

Brian Mercer is the author of the award-winning book Mastering Astral Projection:90-day Guide to Out-of-body Experience (Llewellyn, 2004), and its sequel, The Mastering Astral Projection CD Companion (Llewellyn, 2007). Mentioned prominently in Publisher’s Weekly and in a cover story for New Worlds magazine, his work has been featured on such international radio shows as Dreamland with Whitley Strieber and Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell. Brian is also a staff member of and contributor to Author magazine. His latest novel is Oversoul, Inc. Mercer holds a bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in management information systems. He resides in Seattle.

JEFF AYERS

Jeff Ayers’s first book, The Star Trek Fiction Companion (Pocket Books), was published November 2006. He reviews suspense thrillers for Associated Press, Library Journal, and Booklist. He has written columns and interviewed authors for (LJ),The Writer magazine, and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. He is a regular columnist for PNWA’s Author magazine and the International Thriller Writers,Inc. monthly newsletter.



DARCY CARSON

Darcy is published in romantic comedy. She has been active in Romance Writers of America as a Tacoma chapter president, founding president of Eastside Romance Writers and served as RWA’s national conference agent/editor liaison. She launched an Internet radio show called Romance Review where she interviewed romance authors. Currently, she is working on a contemporary paranormal romance. Darcy is the PNWA literary contest chair.

William Kenower is the author of Write Within Yourself: An Author’s Companion, and is the editor-in-chief of Author magazine, an online magazine for writers and dedicated readers. He writes a popular daily blog for the magazine about the intersection of writing and our daily lives, and has interviewed hundreds of writers of every genre. He also hosts the online radio program Author2Author where every week he and a different guest discuss the books we write and the lives we lead.

He lives in Seattle, WA with his wife and two boys.


NICOLE J. PERSUN

Nicole J. Persun is the author of the debut fantasy novel A Kingdom’s Possession,which came out in 2011. Her novel was a finalist in ForeWord magazine’s Book of the Year Award in the fantasy category. Nicole has other published works,including articles, flash fiction, and poetry. She has taught classes on writing and is a regular speaker at writers’ groups. Nicole is currently working with the PNWA to develop more student benefits in the organization.



TERRY PERSUN

Terry Persun has published six novels through small, independent presses. His latest novel, Cathedral of Dreams, is a finalist for the ForeWord magazine Book of the Year Award, and his literary novel, Sweet Song, won a Silver IPPY Award in 2012. He has also published two poetry collections: Every Leaf and Barn Tarot,and six poetry chapbooks (two were contest winners). His short stories and poems have been published in numerous independent and university journals,including Wisconsin Review, Yarrow, Riverrun, NEBO, Oyez Review, Hiram Poetry Review,Owen Wister Review, Kansas Quarterly, Rag Mag, Poet Lore, Whiskey Island, Colorado-North Review, Widener Review, Context South, and many others. Terry is a freelance magazine writer, technical writer, and regular lecturer at writers’ conferences across the United States. He handles the agent and editor invitations for PNWA Summer Writers Conferences.


DEBORAH SCHNEIDER

A lifelong love of American history led Deborah Schneider from teaching high school to writing novels. Her first book, Beneath a Silver Moon, won the Molly Award for "Most Unsinkable Heroine” from the Heart of Denver chapter of RWA and was later a finalist in the New Historical Voice Contest in 2000. Her mostrecent release, Promise Me, won the 2011 EPIC Award for Best Western Romance.Her first steampunk story, No Ordinary Love, was published in fall 2011. Deborah is employed by the busiest and best library system in the United States. She’s received the Open Book Award from Pacific Northwest Writers and was named Librarian of the Year by Romance Writers of America in 2009.

Sibelle Stone is the pseudonym for Deborah Schneider. Sibelle writes sexy steampunk and paranormal stories, filled with magic, mad scientists, dirigibles, automatons,and creatures that would scare the panties off Deborah.

Jacqui Sullivan has helped PNWA expand their online presence, with member meetings via webinars as well as last year’s relaunch of PNWA’s Facebook and Twitter. She’s now helping with conference coordination. In her day job, she’s a technology program manager with SEOMoz Inc., having worked for Vulcan Inc., IBM, and American Express. She completed the UW’s two certificate programs in Popular Fiction Writing and is penning a speculative fiction series under the pen name,J. D. Sullivan.

Trevor started working for PNWA in 2010 after a series of storied careers in bookselling, shipping, community relations, and window washing. A graduate of Seattle Pacific University’s MFA program in creative writing, he is a huge fan of high fives. He handles many of PNWA’s daily office activities and lives in a very dark cave in Kirkland.



KELLI LIDDANE

Kelli joined PNWA in 2006 as the association’s Managing Director utilizing her background as a business owner, event manager, and graphic designer. As the association has grown and developed and the book industry has changed, so hasKelli’s role within PNWA. As 2012 came to a close, Kelli shifted her focus fromdaily management duties and conference planning to design and development. She has been working on strengthening the association’s brand and visual identity,developing a new website/content management system, continuing to increase PNWA’s online presence, and developing new marketing strategies for the association.

When she isn’t working, Kelli loves spending time at home with her husband and two children.
