PNWA - a writer's resource

Over 50 years ago, Zola Helen Ross and Lucille McDonald decided that the NW needed an organization dedicated to helping writers in the northwest connect to other writers, publishers, agents, and editors across the country. They formed a group and the Pacific Northwest Writers Association was born!

Our mission is to develop writing talent through education, accessibility to the publishing industry, and participation in an interactive, vital writer community.

Board of Directors
We have a fabulous Board of Trustees, made up of an Executive Committee and a group of amazingly motivated Members. This group of dedicated writers and volunteers focus all year on association development, member enhancements, contests, our annual conference, and other events.

get involved
PNWA does many things to help and encourage writers, but it could do little without the help of its volunteers.

From the Board of Trustees to the Summer Conference and Literary contest, PNWA relies on volunteers to make things happen. Volunteering allows you to get involved in a community of people all focused on the same thing, writing. How great is that!

Download an application and put it in the mail. We'd love to start working with you. [Application forthcoming]

Questions about Volunteering? You can always give us a call or send us an email.
